MUDGEE
Recently we drove to Mudgee, to attend A Day On The Green Concert. It was held at the most beautiful vineyard in the country and lots of people came from all over Sydney to see the band called Hunters and Collectors - who were pretty good. I kept hidden in MUM's bag as I was scared the snake was going to come out and slither all over me. MUM told me it was part of their act to let it loose in the crowd and that is why it features on their poster. I spent hours watching all the BIG PEOPLE dancing and getting tipsy. Someone walked past MUM and called her "Mrs Orbison" 'cause she was wearing her dark Ray-Ban glasses and dressed in black, as usual. I thought he said "Mrs Bison". Boy I couldn't stop laughing and MUM thought I had inhaled too much smoke from the funny cigarettes the crowd in front of us were smoking. I didn't fess up to the truth as my ears are looking very bald from all the clips I get around them.

GULGONG
We stayed in a 70s style motel that looked like the Bates Motel in the film Psycho - it was the only place available. DAD was happy 'cause it was cheap and he kept running into the bathroom with a big knife and scaring MUM - like the shower scene in the film. I just sat on my bed all decked out in orange, looking like a bored bear and hoping they would go to sleep so I could sneak off and find someone to play with.

I came across this sign embedded in the pavement. It was put there by swagmen many years ago and it means - evil people live here! I thought it was really spooky and kept looking out for monsters and snakes and all kinds of other things that make me go white with fear. By the time I snuck back home, I was glowing in the dark.
I found this picture of early settlers in the local museum. If you look closely you can see that they all look a bit evil, especially the little girls in those frilly frocks. They reminded me of Popsicle, without smiley faces. MUM said that every picture tells a story and there must be one about them... Then further up the street I saw this sign. Can you believe it? Magpies have their own butchery in Gulgong. Now that is really weird. Not to mention the apostrophe!
