HUNTER VALLEY
Our next Covid escape was to the Hunter Valley. Instead of going to a zoo we decided to visit the vineyards at Pokolbin. On the way we turned off the highway and stopped at Wollombi. Imagine my surprise when I saw Mick Jagger- again! The last time I saw him was in Cuzco. This time he was hanging on a wall outside the Blender Gallery. He looked pretty good as it was an old picture of him without all his wrinkles. I asked DAD why MUM doesn't have many wrinkles and he said, "Well, TED, you can't wrinkle a balloon". I am not sure what that means, but I got a clip around the baldies when I told her.
The best thing about the Hunter Valley is the number of vineyards and we sure made good use of them. We went on an afternoon tour and visited three places. Needless to say, it was a good thing that MUM didn't drive Bertie as he would have ended up back at the panel beaters for sure. The BIG PEOPLE filled up his boot and we clinked all the way back to Sydney on the freeway.
As you can see, I wasn't telling fibs...
I saw this giant snake at the Hunter Valley Gardens. I think he was dehydrated as his tongue was sticking out and he didn't move. I wanted to stick him in MUM's bag, but he was too stiff.
The gardens were so beautiful and spring had sprung. I had the bestest time and wish our balcony at home looked as pretty as this picture. We need to make a quick trip to Bunnings and buy some plants and maybe a hose so we can create our own waterfall. I think our neighbours would love it!
