Horsfield Bay
We headed up to the Poleshack at Horsfield Bay to celebrate Easter in 2015. We took this clutch of chickens with us to guard our chocolate eggs. There used to be eight of them, but I gave one to my pal Luds as he looked pretty lonely and I thought it may cheer him up. Little did I know that he was the leader of the pack and once he left, there was no-one to control them.
Imagine my surprise when the next day I found them all lying on their backs stuffed with chocolate. It just goes to show you can never trust cute little furry animals 'cause they are just as greedy as BIG PEOPLE!
Here's a picture of me on the verandah at the Poleshack cutting a deal with the local kookaburra called 'KB' who belongs to a gang who were out looking for Easter treats. He kept asking me to feed him the chicks, but even I am not that mean.
I soon forgot all my woes when I met up with Kenny and Bur at the Patonga Pub. We had made a date back at Womadelaide to have lunch and see how many glasses of wine we could drink before any of the BIG PEOPLE noticed. We need not have worried as they were all away with the pixies. Here's a picture of me trying to balance Kenny, who was trying to balance Bur, who was trying to unscrew the top off the last bottle.
On Easter Sunday, Luds arrived with some more eggs. He still had his little chiclet stuffed in his lederhosen pocket. Here's a picture of us deciding which one to eat first. The rabbit on the left, or the rabbit on the right, or the egg in the middle? Decisions, decisions. We should not have waited 'cause once MUM saw them she put them all in her bag and that was the end of that. We spent the rest of the day looking at the splendid view from the Poleshack and waiting for the sun to go down so we could head off to the cupboard and hibernate.
