BOWRAL
On yet another 'iso' break we recently went for a trip to Bowral in the Southern Highlands. We visited a National Trust home called Retford Park. It is absolutely beautiful and the volunteers made MUM and DAD put COVID slippers on their feet and wear their masks as well. I was allowed in without having to dress up because they thought I was a stuffed toy and my paws made the floors shiny. I even polished the bannisters when I slid down them.
The entrance to the mansion was guarded by three dogs who didn't say much. I ran around the garden and got lost in this maze. MUM got her 'covids' all muddy when she found me lying in a fountain and had to haul me out.
Our guide told us all these amazing stories about the house and you could tell that it would have been lots of fun to be on Mr Fairfax's party list. He had some of the best paintings and the garden was amazing too. They reminded me of my Ayahuasca experience at the Cuyabano lodge on the Amazon, in Ecuador. As you can see, my right eye is still sparkling with those memories...
